Pan Seared Red Snapper

See these enticing recipes for pan seared red snapper fillets. You will want to try these at home the next time you have some firm and fresh fish fillet meat. Expect great taste and clean flavors from your dish. Searing, pan frying, your fish in a hot cast iron skillet allows you to quickly lock in the fish's natural flavors that most everyone will enjoy.

Fish Recipe:

Ingredient list:

  • red snapper fillets (cut to size of 4 to 6 oz each)
  • use either olive oil or butter for the pan
  • 3 tbsp of vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey or light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown mustard
  • 1/3 cup chopped scallions or red onion
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning

Steps to make:

  1. First you will want to clean and rinse the snapper fillets to make sure they are clean and ready to cook. Let dry on paper towel. 
  2. Next while the fillets are drying, you will want to combine the other ingredients to make your fish marinade. Combine the vinegar, sugar/honey, brown mustard, scallions/onions, lemon juice squeezed and cajun seasoning in a bowl.
  3. Heat your cast iron skillet to about medium heat or so. Place the olive oil or butter into the skillet.
  4. Dip the snapper fillets into the marinade mixture then place immediately into the hot skillet.
  5. Cook, pan fry, until done, which should be about 2 to 4 minutes per side, depending thickness.
  6. Serve with rice, hot rolls and fresh steamed vegetables for an excellent fish meal.
